Steve Smith President Registered Professional Petroleum Engineer

Mr. Smith is recognized as an industry expert in oil and gas royalties. Mr. Smith has lectured on oil and gas royalty appraisals to the National Association of Royalty Owners (NARO), the National Association of Division Order Analysts (NADOA), the National Association of Lease and Title Analysts (NALTA), the Petroleum Engineers Club of Dallas, and the Tax & Estate Planning Section of the Fort Worth Bar Association.

Prior to starting Legacy Royalties, Mr. Smith worked for ExxonMobil in oil and gas operations and acquisitions, evaluating properties up to $60 million in value. Mr. Smith holds a masters and bachelors degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Oklahoma and the University of Texas at Austin.

Active in his community, Mr. Smith currently serves on the city council for Tyler, Texas, is past board president of Grace Community School, and is a past executive council member of the Tyler Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Smith and his wife, Susan, live in Tyler, Texas with their four children.
